The chef has had a fairly star-studded career: It all started in some famous Parisian restaurants (Lucas Carton, Relais de Sèvres, etc) followed by the romantic islands of the Seychelles and Martinique and then the Côte d'Azur (Royal Riviera in St. Jean Cap Ferrat), picking up the Prix Escoffier in 1992 and the Prix Taittinger in 1994 on the way.
But in 1998 he decided, along with his wife Isabelle, to launch La Table d'Yves in Le Haut de Cagnes (a medieval village between Nice and Antibes). Very quickly though, it became obvious that it was too small.
So they looked around for a suitable place where they could welcome people more comfortably and more in keeping with the style of the cuisine. And the search ended in 2002 with the Merville family opening their new establishment among the vineyards around the quite beautiful village of Fayence.
And the result? You gourmets can now indulge yourselves with simplicity and in a very relaxed and friendly environment. |
